Biography

At the dying request of her mother, Raiko was passed on to a strange family friend as a child. Her new found family were mercenaries located in Rabanastre that sought to undermine the ruling Imperial hold over the kingdom of Dalmasca.It was a rough life to grow up in the shadows of the Lowtown district, but Raiko found herself pampered like a princess by her caretakers. While they were dangerous killers to most, they were a loving collective towards her. Her primary caretaker, Richter, eventually took over the band when the previous leader and her right hand man were killed.Richter and his crew wanted anything but the life of a killer for Raiko. She was provided with as normal of a life as they could provide, but with Rabanastre's explosive destruction awakened a deeply buried wrath within her. She cut the final lingering thread of a peaceful life she had built to pursue the life of a sellsword alongside the resistance.While serving in Bozja, something changed her. Once raven black locks were now ghost white. Muddy brown eyes had turned a crimson red.With the war over, the cursed Raen finds herself displaced in a star that finally knows peace. She seeks to pursue loose ends. While she hopes to find closure, she will instead find herself stumbling into a web of conspiracies.

  Dalmascan    : (Common)Raiko was raised in Dalmasca, specifically in the Lowtown district of Rabanastre. It was not unheard of but rare for an Au Ra to be from Dalmasca, so one from the area could easily recognize her. Those in the Dalmascan/Bozjan resistance may also recognize her or have even fought alongside her.  Sellsword    : (Common)Raiko is a sellsword on contract for the North Star company and fresh to The Silver Roses under Anri Alimont. She is always in the market for work, as well as a partner in the field.
Because of her work, it is easy to run to her in an inn anywhere across the star, though some places less frequent than others.
Sometimes she pawns off work she doesn't want to do or feels above them on other people.  Songbird    : (Uncommon)Raiko grew up with a love for poetry and song. She later became a renown singer across Dalmasca, performing in various venues.
She has not sung since the destruction of Rabanastre. There's a few orchestrion rolls and covers of songs she has performed, but they are not widely known nor is she popular outside of parts of Othard.  Flowers And Friends    : (Uncommon)Raiko will not speak about it liberally, but she has a special interest in flowers and entomology. She will rarely bring it up herself, but if the topic comes across her, she will have a lot to say.  Underworld    : (Rare)Raiko sometimes has to get her hands dirty and work with less than savory people. If it's for the greater good of a job, she will seek out or let herself be sought out for a dirty job.  Bounty    : (Rare)The Obsidian Cartel are relic dealers, black market magi, and scholars of Mhach. Their leader, Acanthus Galanis, has it out for Raiko Rikimaru, who has buried the bounty as best as she could. Many have tried, but none have yet succeeded. She has to fail, eventually, right?  Daughter of a Killer    : (Very Rare)It is not well known, but the man who raised her is a Vieran man who underwent the alias 'Knives' as a hitman against Garlean politicians and those associated. He's done his best to keep his association to Raiko a secret, when she was but a girl, but word on the street is he has a brat he looked after and once gutted a man for trying to take her, not worrying about secrecy.  ???    : (Very Rare)Something's particularly off about her. Conjury affects her only halfway. Sometimes she falls very ill, coughing up blood and growing dizzy. These spells of illness end as quickly as they come. To those knowledgeable of obscure, old world illnesses, she has fell under something quite fatal. So why isn't she dead? How is she able to stand and fight?
Luckily, it's not contagious.
